The leading edge of health care

Interactive Tools for MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation

In an increasingly digital age, primary care providers across the country need a better way to provide high-quality, efficient care to a growing number of patients.

Through research funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation is moving healthcare forward with a digital best practices tool.

Gone are the days of best practices guides in oversized three-ring binders, merely collecting dust. Now, healthcare professionals have a resource that resizes to any digital device and goes where they need it.

Tools for changing health care

The Primary Care Team Guide is a unique, entirely free online resource for primary care teams interested in team-based care, an approach that involves greater collaboration between physicians, nurses, medical assistants, front office staff, clinical pharmacists, and results in improved care, efficiency, and job satisfaction.

The MacColl Center spent a year collecting best practices from 31 cutting-edge primary care healthcare teams. Pyramid handled website strategy, design, and development.

The result is a digital best practices guide: a content-rich site that integrates video webinars, concise content, downloadable tools, and interactive tests that are easy to use and easy to access.  With this guide on their phones, tablets, and desktops, primary care teams across the country are expanding their roles, increasing their skills, and creating efficiencies.

Digital means measureable

To ensure the website met the needs of busy healthcare teams, we conducted usability testing, which informed content strategy and design. Digital also means measureable—over time, MacColl will be able to observe users’ traffic patterns, freshening the content and tweaking the site to improve its usability.

Better access to leading edge tools leads to better practices. And more effective, productive practices for healthcare professionals result in healthier, happier patients.

"For more than 15 years Pyramid has been a constant partner in our work—helping us to develop our own thinking through strategic planning sessions, and spreading our message via media, special events, and websites. We certainly wouldn’t have achieved the impact we have without their creativity and assistance along the way." - Brian Austin, Associate Director, MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation
