Open Position: Business Development & Project Manager

SALARY: $66,800 – $89,000
Role summary
The Business Development and Project Manager will manage and implement Pyramid’s business development strategy and activities, including proposal development, RFP and lead tracking, building tools and strategies for improving our business development process and approach, attending and facilitating networking activities, and leading content marketing.
This person will serve in a dual role at Pyramid, spending approximately half of their time on business development, and half as a client-facing project manager working across Pyramid’s service lines.
As a project manager, this person will be focused on translating client vision, goals, and scope of work to Pyramid project teams, developing project work plans and budgets to accomplish goals, supporting team management and resource allocation, and managing the day-to-day of projects, including budget and timeline. This person will hold the big-picture vision for bodies of work alongside a detail-oriented view of the path our team will take to accomplish project goals.
Responsibilities will primarily include:
Business Development
- Work with the COO to define and implement the firm’s overarching business development strategy and approach
- Lead proposal development, including designing best-fit approaches to service delivery to meet client goals, team structures, and budget development
- Track and manage firmwide new business pipeline, including:
- Review and analysis of new leads and RFPs against our identified criteria
- Identification and tracking of ideal partnership opportunities
- Support project resourcing and traffic management
- Manage Pyramid’s content marketing efforts, including the development of strategy and content for Pyramid’s social channels, email marketing, web content, case studies, etc.
- Support with networking opportunities for the leadership team and beyond, including conferences, relevant events, client and community activities, etc.
Project Strategy
- Work closely with clients and internal teams to develop a clear vision of success for projects, and to align project teams around that vision, project goals, and scope of work
- Develop and manage trusted relationships and partnerships with clients—serving as a primary or secondary administrative point of contact and the bridge between the client team and our internal team; positioning our team relationally to the client
- Participate in the design of project process in a way that skillfully sets both our team and the client team up for success
- Manage agreed-upon project approach and scope of work; ensuring the entire project team has the role clarity and resources they need to succeed
- Ensure role clarity for internal project teams and support internal team coordination
- Develop and manage project timelines and budgets, and monthly client invoicing
- Support team to ensure our strategy and work is well calibrated to accomplish client’s goals from project start to finish
- Contribute insight and deliver services to client projects ranging from research, to content development, to facilitation—depending on your own particular interests, skills and passion
- As relevant to individual skill sets, support developing and implementing tactical plans, content, and other deliverables

- 2 – 5 years experience working in a business development related field or role
- Experience with business development and/or project management
- Experience developing proposals and/or budgets
- Content marketing experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- An ability to coordinate a team and drive work forward
- An ability to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and people in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency across Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets and Pages
- Strong proficiency in data analysis / business intelligence tracking in spreadsheet format
Preferred, but not required:
