Seeking Freelance Translators for Community-Facing Communications

Role Summary

We’re looking for mission-aligned, independent contractors with the skill sets to support translating, reviewing, and transcreating culturally appropriate materials that will be used in community-facing communications — such as flyers, messaging, social media posts, and meeting materials.

We’d work with you on a project-by-project basis, establishing clear parameters for scope, budget, and time commitment.

We’re particularly interested in finding potential partners who bring a variety of lived experiences and identities and whose work shows a deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.

You have…

  • Ability to translate content from English into one or more of the following languages:
    • Traditional Chinese
    • Spanish
    • Vietnamese
    • Somali
    • Amharic
    • Korean
    • Tagalog
    • Tigrinya
    • Oromo
    • Japanese
    • Russian
    • Arabic
    • Khmer
    • Thai
    • Laotian
  • Review in-language content for cultural context and clarity (i.e. when reviewing a designed ad, providing feedback and input on fonts and colors used)
  • Supporting transcreation of messaging and materials — for example, as we’re developing the English version of materials, working in partnership with us to co-create the in-language version.
