Associate Director, Integrated Communications

SALARY: $85,000-$105,000

Leading with strategy and a desire to deeply understand our clients goals, audiences, and objectives, the Associate Director, Integrated Communications role is focused on developing resonant strategies and tactical executions to help meet (and exceed) those goals and objectives. From building integrated campaign plans that blend offline, online, and paid executions, to assessing and diagnosing a client’s overall communications program health, this is a role that blends creativity, insightful analysis, and executional know-how across a spectrum of today’s most pressing issues. 

This role would sit within the creative services team, and would collaborate with colleagues across the organization and all the practice areas that Pyramid serves. 


  • A deep and thorough understanding of digital, traditional, and earned media channels and strategic best practices.

  • Leading the development of communications and marketing strategies for integrated broad-based campaign plans, as well as organization wide communications plans, and supporting with implementation as needed.  

  • Advising clients on optimizing existing communications efforts, and effectively deploying resources to the most valuable strategies based on factors like internal capacity, budget, and timeline. 

  • Conducting audits to analyze the performance of communications programs through comprehensive reviews of analytics and metrics for social media, email, website, digital ad accounts, and more. 

  • Working with media partners, contractors, and/or vendors to develop, manage, and steward paid media plans and strategies.

  • Leading and participating in discussions and brainstorms on digital-first creative concepts; ideas for awareness, engagement, growth, or fundraising campaigns; branding, naming, and messaging; and more.

    • As needed, jumping in to develop creative copy, messaging, and creative, and/or to inform and shape creative in partnership with other members on the team.

  • Monitoring and preparing evaluation reports based on identified key performance indicators for short and long-term campaign activations.

  • Collaborate with and mentor or manage a small team of digital strategists to support the growth of the planning integrations across the firm.  


  • Developing strong client relationships, ensuring you are working to build their trust and confidence in your strategic recommendations.

  • Participating in business development activities and marketing efforts for the firm. 

  • Acting as a mentor and resource for other members of the firm to bolster and encourage cross-sharing and learning about digital and offline communications strategies and best practices.

Experiences that may help make someone successful in this role, include:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in communications, integrated marketing, and cross-channel strategy, with a preference for digital 

  • Experience and familiarity with content writing and creative development and implementation for various digital, advertising, and offline marketing channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MailChimp, web copy, Google AdWords, Facebook Advertising, etc.) 

  • Experience developing diverse strategies to meet variety of objectives, from building awareness and education to fundraising and driving specific calls to action

  • Comfort and familiarity with various analytical and performance tracking tools (Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Google Data Studio, Facebook Advertising and Business Manager, etc.)

  • Experience and familiarity with paid media placement for digital channels, specifically Facebook Advertising, Google Adwords, Twitter Ads. 

  • Experience presenting strategy and approaches to leaders at all levels from executive level professionals to staff members with little to no communications experience

  • A willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A deep curiosity to learn about new issues, causes, technologies, and tools

  • A bit of a data and tech geek

  • An ability to persuade and influence people and tell stories about the impact and opportunity of communications strategy

  • An ability to organize and track multiple deadlines and project details and communicate effectively in a timely manner with internal staff, clients, vendors, etc.
