SALARY: $60,000 - $80,000

Pyramid Communications is hiring a visual designer: an experienced creative who is passionate about strategic design and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, adept at taking and giving creative direction and feedback, and motivated in managing and leading their own projects. They know branding and web design, and are comfortable presenting their rationale and creative ideas with clients and internal teams. This role will work on a wide range of projects for a diverse client base.

The design specialist will:

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to take projects from concept to completion

  • Participate in brainstorms and meetings, effectively communicating ideas and work to project teams and clients

  • Work as part of a small design team, mentoring and encouraging each other

  • Continually build skills and share knowledge of cutting edge work with the broader Pyramid team

  • Report to Pyramid’s Design Director 


We recognize there are many paths and ways to grow into a career. While these are suggested skills, experiences, and capabilities, we encourage you to apply if you believe you have relevant experience that may not neatly align with the following suggested experience. Some of the skills and experience that would help you succeed in this role include:

  • Three to five years of visual design experience (agency and nonprofit client experience preferred) in web design, brand and graphic design, motion graphics, and illustration

  • A strong aesthetic sense with knowledge of color, layout, typography, as well as user-interface design principles and standards

  • High level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience in designing for web and mobile

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to confidently and successfully present creative concepts and rationales to internal teams and clients

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a project load that works across a wide range of clients and issue areas

  • Proven experience working in collaborative teams


  • Experience in print production and collateral design

  • Experience using AfterEffects, Adobe XD, and/or Figma

  • Experience designing infographics, data visualizations and other information-rich materials
